RUBEN EDERA ECLEO SR.
NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL as the name implies was stablished thru the effort of
the Congressional Representative of District 1, Province of Surigao del Norte,
Hon. Glenda B. Ecleo thru Republic Act No. 7734 dated June 3, 1994. Immediately after a year of the approval
the school was opened using the PBMA chapter building, in the house and on
stage, Mrs. Elvira O. Galado acted as School In – Charge handling the second
year students with Mrs. Carmen T. Monsanto as first year adviser. Two months
later, volunteer teachers came namely; Miss Anecita D. Alberca, Miss Elizabeth
Llames, Mr. Roberto Tolero and Mr. Domie Polinar.
A complete year level was offered from first year to fourth year in the following year, with eight teachers Mrs. Elvira O. Galado, Mr. Samuel D. Obingke, Mrs. Rowena Q. Bantayanon, Mr. Larry Alcaraz, Mr. Domie B. Polinar, Mrs. Genna V. Polinar, Mrs. Anecita Acupanda and Mrs. Indolecia Dinola. The students and teachers stayed for four months in the PBMA chapter until such time that they were able to rehabilitate the women’s delegation buiding near the mangrove. Another building was occupied made of nipa, cogon, sawali and coco lumber donated by the PTA with the assistance of the Barangay officials headed by Brgy. Captain Hon. Patricio C. Monsanto.
Three years later,
the population increased giving the school regular teachers to handle classes
this includes Mrs. Marites Matulac, Mrs. Catherine B. Labastida, Mrs. Maricyl
A. Feliza, Mrs. Emalyn E. Erno, Mrs. Harem Taruc, and Mrs. Judith Ecoben. In 1999
– 2000 enrollment increase was evident thus, in school year 2001 – 2002 one
unit building with five classrooms was released thru the effort of Congressman
Constantino H. Navarro Jr. the merriment of the students teachers and the whole
Barangay was completed with another set of teachers reporting on duty Mrs. Leah
G. Ag – ag, Mrs. Modelyn L. Mondragon, in lieu of Mrs. Rosita Ugay, Miss Jecil
G. Ebol, and Mrs. Argoldenia C. Edradan.
Another challenge to the school head happened when the
Elementary and Secondary was integrated for two years starting from school year
2004 – 2005. Despite the issue the PTA President Mr. Sulpesio M. Velez Sr. and
the Vice – President Mr. Dominador Torres managed to put – up the school stage.
School year 2005 – 2006 the incumbent Head Teacher was transferred to Loreto
NHS paving the way for Mr. Antonio Cortes as the second School Head for six
months. During his tenure he was able to provide a concrete pathway from the
gate to the school stage as well as the school ground. After his term Mrs.
Galado went back to the school and initiated for a project the school covered
court recently called mini gym with steel post and GI roofing. Upon her
retirement a new Officer In – Charge was designated by Superintendent Josita B.
Carmen to take over, Mrs. Genna V. Polinar lead the school for six months term.
Part of her accomplishment was the window grill of the faculty & computer
room with the help of the General PTA officers of SY 2008 – 2009. To date added
teaching force of the school includes, Mrs. Lorena P. Malbacias, Mrs. Rosie C.
Fernan, Mr. Edward A. Quirino, Mr. Reagan V. David and Mrs. Monaliza A.
Torres.
May 15, 2009 a new Secondary School Principal 11 Mr. Roberto
T. Lorenzo assumed into office. As
vocationally oriented he prepared the school for a curriculum shift proposing
for Agri – Fishery Tech Voc School offering three major courses such as Animal
Production, Crop Science and Food Processing. Due to favorable increase of
enrollment more buildings were built in 2010 – 2011 two from KALAHI CIDS,
another two from DepED. In 2013 Mr. Lorenzo added his force with two
vocationally skilled volunter teachers Mrs. Rizalyn D. Intes for technical
drawing and Mrs. Rosalinda C. Meparanom for Agronomy.
Though successful in his endeavor Sir Robert preferred to
end his term in the government service until 6th of May 2013,
thereby opening for a new officer in charge of the school as designated by the
Schools Division Superintendent, Romeo O. Aprovechar, per endorsement Mrs. Leah
G. Ag – ag acted as the new leader for two months, thereby accepting four new
permanent teachers, Mrs. Maricelle C. Bonilla, Mrs. Ma. Cristal Jade E. Butaya,
Miss Bernadith T. Maisa and Mr. Jeremiah A. Lorenzo. Presently the school has
fourteen regular teachers and two volunteer teachers with one School Principal.
July 1, 2013 a newly reassigned School Principal reported to
school Mrs. Edeliza F. Seguis from Ruben Edera Ecleo Sr. Elementary School.
With her short stay renovations were made in the physical aspects of the campus
as well as the curriculum enhancement for the benefit of the whole REESES
family.
